Meet Your Power:

Menstrual Education Program

Meet Your Power is an engaging, evidence-informed learning experience created and delivered by TEDx speaker, performer, and human biology educator Lucy Peach.

Curriculum-aligned and designed for today’s learners, the incursion programme blends science with warmth and playfulness. It supports schools in offering relevant, inclusive education that helps young people explore and understand their bodies in a way that feels positive, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable.

With an approach that invites curiosity rather than embarrassment, Meet Your Power builds embodied literacy and equips students with the confidence to navigate change. It lays the groundwork for healthier self-awareness, emotional well-being, and a lifelong, respectful connection to their bodies

Choose the Programme That Fits Your School

Each programme is complete in its own right, while also forming the foundation for the next. Schools may commence at Programme 1 and choose to extend over time.

Programme 1:

Power Foundations

Recommended entry point: Year 5

Power Foundations is the essential starting point. It introduces students to puberty and menstruation in a positive, age-appropriate way, before changes are well underway.

This programme includes:

  • 'My Greatest Period Ever' award-winning theatre performance

  • A one-hour professional learning session for teachers

  • A six-week, classroom-ready learning incursion programme

Power Foundations establishes shared language, normalises conversations, and ensures students and staff begin from the same evidence-informed base.

Programme 2:

Power in Practice

Includes Programme 1,
plus continuity beyond Year 5

Power in Practice builds directly on Power Foundations. It extends the programme beyond a single year by equipping teachers with the skills, confidence, and resources to support students from Year 6 onwards.

This programme includes:

  • Everything in Power Foundations

  • Targeted teacher training for follow-up teaching in Years 6+

  • Practical tools to reinforce learning and respond confidently to student questions

This programme ensures continuity of care, supporting students as they grow and enabling future cohorts to benefit from a consistent approach.

Programme 3:

The Power Pathway

Includes Programmes 1 and 2,
plus a whole-school framework

The Power Pathway is a comprehensive, whole-school approach to menstrual education and wellbeing.

This programme includes:

  • Everything in Power Foundations

  • Everything in Power in Practice

  • A coordinated, whole-school commitment to supporting the programme across relevant curricula and wellbeing structures

  • A Year 9 rite-of-passage camp, marking transition, maturity, and embodied confidence

This approach embeds menstrual education into the culture of the school, ensuring every cohort is introduced early, supported consistently, and reinforced at key developmental stages.Class groups (single-gender sessions for open discussion and comfort).

Aligned With the Australian Curriculum

Meet Your Power is age-appropriate and aligns with the Health and Physical Education (HPE) learning area of the Australian Curriculum, as adopted by the Western Australian School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA).

Year 5 is the key moment to introduce the programme. Giving students this understanding before puberty begins is vital, and continued sessions in high school ensure they feel supported as they grow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age group is this for?

Meet Your Power sessions are designed for upper primary and high school students (Years 5–10). Each session is tailored to the maturity and developmental stage of the group. This approach aligns with Talk Soon. Talk Often., the WA Department of Health’s guide for parents and carers, which emphasises that open, age-appropriate conversations about bodies, relationships and sexuality should start early and evolve over time. By introducing menstrual education in upper primary school in a holistic and embodied way, we support students just before or as puberty begins, helping them feel informed, confident and prepared, rather than confused or embarrassed. Reference: Talk Soon. Talk Often. A guide for parents talking to their kids about sex, Western Australian Department of Health (2020). Available at healthywa.wa.gov.au/talksoontalkoften

How does this fit into the curriculum?

The sessions align with the Australian Health and Physical Education curriculum, supporting outcomes around body literacy, emotional wellbeing, and respectful relationships.

I’m a parent or teacher, how can I bring this to my school?

Thank you for your interest! The best next step is to arrange a short conversation between me and someone at your school, usually a Wellbeing Coordinator, Health teacher, or member of the leadership team. In that chat, I can give an overview of the program, learn about your school’s needs, and see how it might fit within your existing Health & Physical Education or wellbeing framework. It’s an easy, no-obligation way to explore what’s possible and make sure it’s the right fit. If you’re a parent, you can: - Share this website with your school and suggest they get in touch. - Or simply email me their contact details and I can reach out directly.

Will kids actually enjoy it?

Absolutely. Students describe the sessions as fun, freeing, and fascinating. They leave feeling more confident, informed, and proud of their bodies.

What is the adult feedback about Meet Your Power?

Teachers and parents regularly tell us these sessions spark the conversations they’ve always wanted to have, but didn’t know how to start. Many say it’s as valuable for them as it is for the students. This learning isn’t just for one age group. The more openly we can talk about bodies, cycles and care, across generations, the more confidence and connection we create. When teachers, parents and students all share the same language, the whole community benefits from greater openness, empathy and positivity. It’s never too late to learn about our cycles, understanding them supports everyone, not just those who have periods.
